I had been wanting to try my hand at making some wax shotgun slugs and when my wife told me she had a few candles she was going to throw away I jumped at the opportunity. They were scented candles and seemed a little soft but I figured if they didn't work out I could just make some more out of regular white unscented wax:



I melted the candles in a pan of hot water:



I had two candles and divided the wax into four separate containers so when it came time to mix everything up I wouldn't have too much wax to deal with:



I was going to make more but since this was just the initial test I only used ten shotgun shells to start with (12 gauge - 7 1/2 birdshot):



I cut the tops off the shells with a razor knife:

I took the shot from the ten shells and mixed it with a small amount of wax. Then I used a spoon to put the wax / shot mixture back into the empty shells:
