The old Yahoo! Group

I was wondering if there are any plans to archive and link to the old topics from when we were organized on Yahoo.  There were a lot of interesting conversations and they would be a great resource for all of us.  It would probably be labor intensive to port them to a Simple Machines forum.

Yes, I would love to do it but I haven't found and easy way yet. Any suggestions?

Since this is a Simple Machines forum, I'd cruise www.simplemachines.org and look for an addon that will do the conversion.  I'm not sure how many people would like to convert a Yahoo group to a forum but it seems like a logical progression for a group that's adapting to newer technology.  I'll keep my eyes peeled.  I'm sure we're not the first forum that originated from an online group.

Actually, I have done some investigation on how to do this but it seems that you need to know how to work with databases (which I know nothing about). Anyone out there know there way around them? Maybe someone can give me a hand and we will convert everything over.

I know nothing about it either, but I will ask a Miataphile friend.  He works in that industry.  You might even PM him, it would be Jeff_Man...he joined a few weeks back.
